The most common type of extraction noise problem occurs from kitchen extraction systems; extraction systems of this type often have ristricted space and exhaust externally through ducting to the side of buildings before terminating at roof level.
Sound Planning calculates break-out noise through external duct; fan case break-out; and exhaust noise at the duct termination (often roof level).
Extraction noise problems are a combination of all elements of the system; when designing suitable noise mitigation strategies a number of noise control products and methods should be considered:
- Duct Attenuators
- Acoustic Louvres
- Duct Wrap
- Duct Casing
- Fan Jackets
- Plenums
- Exhaust Cowls
- Acoustic Enclosures
Sound Planning liaises with both the client and the Local Planning Authority (LPA) in the determination of suitable noise mitigation measures; providing an appropriate strategy to meet all LPA and client demands.
